Dr. R. S. Chaggar
Dr. R.S Chaggar: Dr. Ramandeep Chaggar is a third generation veterinarian with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. He received his Bachelors in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) from Chaudhary Charan Singh University of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar (Harayana) in 1999. Growing up, Dr. Chaggar spent all his childhood holidays with his father assisting at what was at the time one of the first private veterinary clinics in Delhi, established in 1968.
Prior to getting his degree, Dr Chaggar also had the opportunity to spend time volunteering at a variety of modern veterinary hospitals and clinics all over the world, including the Park View Veterinary Group and Royal Veterinary College in London (UK), and Long Beach Veterinary Hospital in Los Angles (USA). He returned to India to get his degree, after which he joined his family practice, working extensively as a surgeon excelling in soft tissue surgery, bone repair and pyometra. He also performed numerous peritoneal dialysis procedures in kidney patients, with a success rate of upto 90% in extending palliative and conservative care in renal failure patients.
Dr. Chaggar then decided to expand his knowledge base, and moved to Australia to pursue an M.B.A. at Victoria University (Melbourne). During his time as a student, he also worked as a veterinary assistant at Beaumaris Veterinary Hospital (Beaumaris) under Dr. Andrew Redmond, learning complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament repair techniques as well as studying effective methods for population control in small animals.
After returning to Delhi, he decided that it was time to expand his family practice and became the Co-Founder, COO and Head Surgeon at Alphapet. A passionate veterinarian with a keen understanding of animal psychology, Dr Chaggar ensures that all pets, regardless of their desposition, are treated with compassion and care.
Dr. Rupali Saxena
Dr. Rupali Saxena received her Bachelors in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry from Punjab Agricultural University in the 2001. She then received her Masters in Clinical Veterinary Medicine from the same institute. She demonstrated strong acedemic excellence by receiving various distinctions and honours throughout her academic career.
After completing her studies, she joined Dr. Chaggars Dogs & Cats Clinic in 2004 and has dedicatedly worked there for over 8 years, building a reputation as a thorough and focused doctor. A compassionate and diligent worker, she enjoys all aspects of clinical practice though her core strength is internal medicine. She brings a great depth of experience to Alphapet and plays a central role in mentoring some of our younger doctors.
Dr. Shshank Mehta
Dr. Shshank has a Bachelors in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (with Honours) from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu. After graduating, he offered his services to Small Animal Veterinary Endeavor (S.A.V.E., a trust for poor pet owners) for 6 months as a volunteer to assist them in their mission to provide veterinary care services to those who cannot afford them. Subsequent to that, he also had the privilege to work with the Equine Unit of The Army Veterinary Corps for a short period.
He then decided to enter the private sector and started work with Dr. Chaggar’s Dogs & Cats Clinic where he worked as Assistant Practice Manager, Veterinary Physician and Surgeon. He received extensive experience and exposure during this period, after which the clinic transitioned into Alphapet.
At Alphapet Hospital, Dr. Shshank has played a significant role in setting up basic systems and processes to help the hospital start operations. He is very passionate about animals and has displayed his dedication and focus by frequently putting in long hours to ensure the well-being of his patients.
Dr. Amit Khajuria
Dr. Amit Khajuria has a Bachelors in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (with Honours) and a Masters in Veterinary Science (“M.V.Sc.”) (Veterinary Surgery & Radiology, Gold Medalist) from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu. The focus of his M.V.Sc. research was Canine Surgery and Anesthesia. During his studies, he completed a six months internship at, and attended the equine training course organised by the 3 Advance Field Veterinary Hospital (an army hospital).
He also did his externship at Dr. Chaggar Dog & Cat Clinic where he received training in small animal electro-surgery under the guidance of Dr. R. S. Chaggar.
After graduating, Dr. Amit served as a Consultant Doctor (Internal Medicine) at Aashirwad Dairy Farm (Jammu) while simultaneously establishing his own small animal private practice. He subsequently decided to join Alphapet, realizing that this would give him a significantly broader platform to utilize his expertise.
Dr. Amit’s achievements include best poster presentation Award in 10th Annual convention of Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (“ISACP”), during which he presented three papers. He has also participated in XXXV AND XXXVI Annual Congress of Indian Society for Vetrinary Surgery. He has one paper publication and five abstract publications to his name.
Dr. Anangsha Saikia
Dr. Anangsha Saikia has completed her Bachelor's degree in Veterinary science from the College of Veterinary Science, Guwahati in 2014, post which she pursued her Post Graduation from the same institute with a specialisation in Veterinary surgery, which she achieved with distinction in 2016. Her research Post-Graduation research was focused on the the use of Anaesthesia in dogs. Her love for animals continues to inspire her to help and serve the animal kingdom
The focus of his master’s research was on Mouse Embryonic Stem Cell Culture and Differentiation for developing Artificial Organs. On the other hand, a part of his study work also focused on comparing Mouse Adipose Tissue Mesechymal Stem Cells and Bone Marrow Mesechymal Stem Cells for Osteogenic Differentiation. A part of his study had been published in SCI journal, Transplantation Proceeding and also achieved best poster award at 2013 Winter Symposium of the Korean Association for Laboratory Animal Science. In association, he had published five research articles in different SCI journals.
After graduating, Dr. Pankaj served as a research associate in Stem Cell Institute for one year under the same supervisor with simultaneous work at the Animal Hospital in Kangwon National University. After completion of degree, he subsequently decided to return back to India and serve his nation. Alphapet provided the broader platform to utilize his experience and knowledge for pet care.
